Guys please tell me if an iPad is worth it

Sorry but I don't have an ipad but I have not heard any thing about them. Good luck if you are planing on buying one

My short answer is yes. That does require some stipulations though... I would say if you are financially well off it's worth it, if you are someone that is on a limited budget and would need to save specifically for it AND "ALREADY" own an iPhone or iPod touch, then probablly not. You won't get a whole lot of different functionality from it and at an additional $500-$850.00 it's not a great value for someone budget minded in this economy. Now, thats not to say that they aren't usefull (Read my other posts) in "Certain circumstances it sure beats the hell outta spending $1,800.00 for a Macbook Pro if you won't be using the power it provides. Honestly what I did personally was I bought a new Macbook Pro 15" with the i5 processor for the mentioned $1,800.00 opened it up, went past my 2 week return date (2 weeks 3 days to be exact!!!) So I ended up selling it for a HUGE loss of $1,350.00 and upgraded my iPhone to the 4 and got an iPad with cash to spare, I can do EVERYTHING I needed the Macbook Pro for (For Work) plus got a new phone with cash to spare. so just think about YOUR specific situation, what do u want it for?

Yes yes it is. I am posting this reply on my iPad actually. The iPad is great. It has a large screen for things. It's fun to play with. You should get one

i dont think its worth it dude many of my friends have it and they think its the just the same as a laptop the thing they hated was that it had no camera. so if your looking for a on the go pc the just buy a laptop unless u want the futuristic feel so it just depends on what u want

well i got a ipad Wifi/3G and its pretty good if u want to keep in touch and use over 3G anywhere is pretty nice..

-so yes its worth it

I wouldn't buy I if I was u cuz it's basically a bigger version on a ipodtouch
U might as buy netbook cuz ipads cannot download software and other computer stuff

On d ipad as well on 3g. Dont hv an iphone. Still worth it even spending tht much to get it. With the iOs 4 it will be much better.

I was starting to think no. But there is a certain coolness about an iPad that a laptop just does not give you. Every time I think about it. The limitations start tinfoil me off but it's just do dam cool. If you have the money get an iPad. Sooner it later your going to in up buying a laptop though.

i personally would wait to see what android tablets are born over the xmas period, remember the android system is more like a computer and therefore a good chance that external devices (flash drives etc) will work on them too

My iPad is connected to all 3 of my pc's 2 desktops and a laptop meaning I can control them from any where in the world, meaning there with me at all times. seriously people that's a handy tool imagine carrying 2 desktop pc's around with you and even then I can't use them without a monitor keyboard mouse and not mention electricity plus I can watch any flash video on my iPad by watching them on my desktop's explorer on my iPad
