So im new to this site and it has somewhat convinced me to jailbreak my phone for the first time. I have heard that it slows your phone down tremendously though.. Any advice on the subject?

it really doesn't. it's just like a normal iphone, the more you have on it the slower it'll run naturally. and since jailbreaking allows you to put more on it, it get's slower. (but it's hardly noticeable to be honest.) i have a jailbroken iphone 4, itouch 4, and ipad. i wouldn't go any other way. hope this helps

Yes, spurs is right,
I heard the same thing, but jailbroke and it was no different.

Thei heard the same thing about winterboard, but added it and it was still fine.

The only time my old 3g slowed down was when i installed a whole new OS theme that worked over the top of the iPhone os, but just removing it put the speed back up to normal.

Which JB are you using? What version is the version of your iOS? Go to Settings> General> About> Version
